ASSISTANT DIRECTOR – EDUCATION SERVICES Lead a team in developing curriculum, teaching strategies, and resources for DSA educational and enrichment programmes for children, youth, and adults with Down syndrome in various settings which include mainstream education, special schools, and DSA training programmes. Conduct and participate in training sessions for parents, teachers and others on how to work effectively with children, youth, and adults with Down syndrome. Assist the Executive Director and perform administrative functions.
Qualifications Minimum B.A. or Masters in Special or Mainstream Education. Experience working with children, youth, and adults with special needs / Down syndrome, particularly with the administration of standardized assessments, curricula management and research methodology. Must be able to work independently and under tight deadlines with good networking, communication and management skills.
EVENTS & FUNDRAISING MANAGER Conceptualize, market, and organize fundraising activities, sponsorship and awareness events for DSA. Play a key role to maintain and grow DSA’s databases for sponsors, donors and supporters. Achieve fundraising targets/objectives within the given time frame. Ensure fundraising activities and events comply with prevailing regulatory requirements. Perform administrative functions. Qualifications
SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER Participate in DSA’s educational programmes that include supporting children with Down syndrome and their teachers in integrated education settings, and conduct educational programmes designed by DSA. Assist the Head of Education Services in developing, preparing, and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEP), curriculum teaching strategies, as well as conducting training sessions for parents, teachers and others in working with persons with Down syndrome. Perform administrative functions.
Qualifications Degree / Diploma in special education, general education, early childhood education. School experience working with children with special needs / Down syndrome would be preferred. Passion, enthusiasm and strong commitment are essential qualities. TRAINING OFFICER Participate in DSA training programmes by teaching/training children, youth and adults with Down syndrome. Assist the Assistant Director in developing and planning training sessions and job placements, and in initiating and implementing Social Enterprises for youths with Down syndrome.
Qualifications Diploma in occupational therapy, special education, disability studies, early childhood education, psychology, general education. Experience in working with persons with special needs / Down syndrome preferred. Passion, enthusiasm and strong commitment are essential qualities.
